SEEKING SUMMER 2027 SOFTWARE ENGINEERING INTERNSHIPS

Hi, I’m Burton Tsai.

Software for
systems that
move.

Computer Engineering at the University of Washington. I build across robotics software, real-time data pipelines, and embedded systems.

01 / INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

From code to the real world.

Two internships.
Software that connects to hardware.

01

Foxconn

Robotics Software Intern

Jul — Sep 2026

Bringing a humanoid robot into a digital world.

Building a real-time digital twin of the Fiibot humanoid robot in NVIDIA Omniverse and OpenUSD.

  • Developed a custom Omniverse Kit extension in Python to animate Fiibot from streaming data.
  • Deployed a Kafka broker and built a Python producer/consumer pipeline to stream joint telemetry into the simulation.

02

ABB Robotics

Software Development Intern

Jul — Sep 2025

Developing software for industrial robotics.

Designed and developed software for the OmniCore controller, working at the intersection of software and physical automation.

  • Worked on software integration with large-scale robotics systems.
  • Collaborated with the team on industrial robotics processes and system efficiency.
